NORTH EAST CIRCLE -- AIPEU-GDS (NFPE) CIRCLE CONVENTION

The Convention of AIPEU-GDS(NFPE), North East Circle has been held on 24th November, 2012 in the premises of Agarthala HO, Agarthala, Tripura State.

North East Circle has its own peculiarity in form of geographical & cultural diversity. It contains 6 States viz., Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), Nagaland (Kohima), Manipur (Imphal), Mizoram (Aizwal), Tripura (Agarthala) & Meghalaya (Shillong). All six independent States surrounding the State of Assam on three sides (one side of Assam is West Bengal & Bhutan). Arunachal Pradesh is adjacent to Tibet, Nagaland, Manipur & Mizoram are adjacent to Mynmar (Burma), Tripura & Meghalaya are adjacent to Bangladesh.

All the five States represented with five divisions and Arunachal Pradesh have two divisions viz., Agarthala & Dharmanagar. Total BOs in North East Circle are nearly 2600 with the working strength of GDS is about 6200 and Circle Office is in Shillong.

The convention is witnessed and graced with the presence of about 300 GDS comrades including 50 women comrades representing all the divisions and paid keen attention to the deliberations of NFPE leaders and  patiently remained in the session till conclusion at 09.30pm, which is a highly appreciable one on the part of the leadership in NE and particularly Agarthala.
